Once you consult Dr. Tarkik, he will examine you clinically and will prescribe the local part radiographs as part of knee replacement surgery protocol.
Once the diagnosis of the arthritis is made and decision for Total knee replacement is taken, the patients undergoes detail laboratory evaluation along with the consultation with physician, cardiologist and the anaesthetist. Once the optimization is done the patient will be posted for the surgery.
Before the day of surgery your limb is prepared with specialised solution. On the day of surgery again the specialised wash is given to the limb as a art of protocol made by Dr. Tarkik Amin. You will be given a dose of antibiotic.
The surgery usually takes around one to two hours.
After the surgery, patient is kept in recovery room till the advice by Dr. Tarkik.
The physiotherapy and rehabilitation will be started on the very next day with specialised physiotherapists who works as per the instruction of Dr. Tarkik Amin.
Within 3-4 days ,the patient can be discharged. On discharge, a detailed instruction is given which will ultimately help in achieving smooth recovery from the surgery. Even after discharge, the patient remain connected with Dr Tarkik Amin and their queries are shorted out without any delay.
A 75 year old obese lady was suffering from the knee osteoarthritis since last 20 years. She had taken multiple medications along with physiotherapy. But gradually she became wheel-chair bound and could not able to walk without support.
